Closing Day
If you have come this far, then this means that it is almost time for a congratulations, but not yet. Do not forget to tie up these loose ends:
Final Walk-Through.
More of a formality than anything else, the final takes place a day before, or the day of the closing. You will visit the property to verify that all is in working order, everything is the same as when you last viewed the property, that there are no extra items left behind, and that everything included in your purchase is still at the property.
End-to-End Moving Support.
We believe in making everything as easy and convenient for you as possible, including the period between Closing and Move Day. Instead of simply sharing a list of important local contacts – KNG offers a white-glove approach to helping organize your move logistics. Clients are provided with a digital concierge and personalized dashboard to facilitate move preparations such as keeping track of government documentation address changes, utilities set-up, finding a reputable mover, and so much more.
Be Prepared.
We are ready to assist you should an unforeseen glitch pop up, even at this last stage. Something at the property breaks down, or some other minor detail – no need to worry. We have encountered these problems before so we know how to handle them efficiently and in a stress-free manner.
Closing.
Closing day is an exciting time. It’s when you finally get to take legal possession of your new home. The final signing generally happens at your lawyer or notary’s office along with the following events;
- Your lender gives the mortgage money to your lawyer
- You provide your down payment (minus the deposit) to your lawyer along with the closing costs (typically 1.5% – 4% of the purchase price) to cover legal fees, land transfer taxes, and other costs
- Your lawyer or notary pays the seller, registers the home in your name and gives you the deed and keys to your new home
